Mel Tlhapi crowned inaugural Mrs Soweto 2023

On the 12th of August, we had the chance to attend Mrs Soweto at Soweto Theatre. And let us tell you, it was unlike anything we’ve ever experienced.

You know that feeling when you’re so caught up in a moment, everything else blurs out? That was us, the entire night.

The performances? Oh, they had us tapping our feet and humming along. But the real stars? The ladies. Each one radiating confidence, grace, and genuine beauty. And the camaraderie between them, even in a competition? Heartwarming.

The judges, with their sharp gazes, truly had a tough job. The audience was on the edge of their seats, living every moment with those on stage. And the hosts? They sprinkled humor, charm, and eased the tension in the room.

And an overjoyed Mel Tlhapi from Mofolo Central was crowned Mrs Soweto 2023. Fatima Moyane got crowned as Mrs Soweto 2023 first princess; meanwhile Pertunia Malingisa was crowned as Mrs Soweto 2023 second princess respectively.

The show was hosted by Refiloe Motsei, Jozi FM presenter, and Thapelo Motloung, entrepreneur and television producer.
