Netflix releases trailer for upcoming family comedy ‘Meet The Khumalos’
Today, Netflix dropped the trailer for its new comedy, Meet The Khumalos, set to premiere on 11 April 2025.
Grace Khumalo (Khanyi Mbau) has an Instagram-worthy life — a beautiful house in the burbs, a loving husband, Vusi (Bonga Dlamini), and a model son, Sizwe (Jesse Suntele). The late Connie Chiume, who plays the role of Mavis, a well-meaning but meddling mother-in-law, delivers a memorable final on-screen performance on Netflix, bringing another compelling character to life with a brilliance that defined her decades-long illustrious career.
Grace’s near-perfect world is thrown off balance with the arrival of new neighbours, the Sitholes. At the heart of the family next door is Bongi (Ayanda Borotho), a feisty, no nonsense businesswoman from KwaMashu. By her side is her steadfast husband Desmond (Siyabonga Shibe) and their beautiful, charming daughters Sphe and Lu (played by Khosi Ngema and Alizwa Sikhafungana, respectively)
Grace and Bongi’s rivalry takes an unexpected turn. After discovering their children are secretly dating, the two women form an unlikely alliance. United by a shared mission, they set aside their differences and join forces, determined to do whatever it takes to break up the young lovers.
Produced by Jayan Moodley, the mastermind behind South Africa’s well-loved Kandasamy franchise, Meet The Khumalos delivers fiery rivalries, unexpected alliances and a heartwarming love story.
