Planet Fitness brings industry leading training facilities to new club in Fourways Mall

Saturday 16 August marks the opening of Planet Fitness’ 51st club, in Fourways Mall: a training destination that taps into global best practice to deliver one of the most progressive training experiences in South Africa.

Mannee De Wet, Managing Director of Planet Fitness, says: “Our Fourways Mall club has been designed as a true functional training hub, and also as a place where the community can come together to train smarter and support each other in reaching their individual goals. We want our members to feel that every element of their training journey has been thought about and catered for.”

With Planet Fitness being the official training partner for HYROX in South Africa, this new club houses the full range of equipment for HYROX athletes, including a triple sled track. It is also their first club to introduce a dedicated stretch and mobility zone as part of their drive to support recovery, flexibility, and injury prevention alongside strength, cardio, and functional training.

In addition, members will enjoy a heated yoga studio, reformer Pilates, and the group’s unique Booty Factory space focusing on glute training specifically. And, in a move to provide two complementary spaces for the price of a single membership, Fourways Mall members will enjoy full access to the Planet Fitness club at The Buzz shopping centre, and vice versa.

De Wet says that their decision to open a second club in the Fourways area is driven by the rapid development in the surrounding neighbourhoods, the immense capital investment into supporting infrastructure, and the residents’ strong appetite for a fit and healthy lifestyle.

“Our growth strategy is about quality, not quantity. The opening of our Fourways Mall club forms part of Planet Fitness’ plan to grow sustainably by adding five new clubs across the country, every year until 2030, while continually refurbishing and upgrading existing clubs to keep them relevant to what today’s members are demanding,” ends De Wet.
