#MadeInJozi Youth Summit aims to address concerns while showcasing opportunities
The City of Johannesburg’s Youth Directorate is excited to announce the inaugural #MadeInJozi Youth Summit, a groundbreaking event aimed at empowering the youth of the City.
Taking place on Saturday, 8 June 2024 at the Brixton Multipurpose Centre from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the summit is set to tackle critical issues faced by Johannesburg’s youth, such as unemployment, while shining a spotlight on the plethora of opportunities available within the City.
Bringing together young entrepreneurs, business owners, individuals in tourism and hospitality, and creatives, along with representatives from City entities and private sector exhibitors, the summit will serve as a platform for knowledge sharing, potential collaborations, and fostering civic engagement among the City’s youth.
Renowned industry experts will deliver keynote addresses and engage in panel discussions on topics ranging from leadership and entrepreneurship to innovation and social impact, providing valuable insights for the aspiring young leaders of Johannesburg.
Coinciding with South Africa’s Youth Month in June, the #MadeInJozi Youth Summit aims to empower young individuals to not only succeed but also make meaningful contributions to the City’s socioeconomic development.
Banele Dlamini, Director of the Youth Directorate, extends a warm invitation to all young people in Johannesburg to participate in this transformative summit.
“Join us in celebrating the potential and power of Johannesburg’s youth throughout Youth Month and beyond,” Dlamini urges.
Registration for the summit is free and can be completed online through the City’s social media platforms and website.
“Through collaboration, we can empower our youth to become the driving force behind sustainable development and positive change in our City,” Dlamini emphasises .
The Youth Directorate, through the #MadeInJozi Youth Summit, aims to help young individuals realise their full potential and actively contribute to Johannesburg’s future. The summit also seeks partnerships with various stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, businesses, educational institutions, and youth-led initiatives, to maximise its impact.
