Momentum Builds at The Glen Shopping Centre as MTN SHIFT Gaming Experience Rolls Into Its Next Heat

With national titles on the line and over R250 000 in prizes up for grabs, the competition is heating up across South Africa’s biggest gaming tournament.

The next stop on the MTN SHIFT Gaming Experience tour landed at The Glen Shopping Centre over the last weekend in June 2025, bringing a wave of gaming action to Johannesburg. From EAFC 25™ and Beat Saber to Rocket League and more, players battled for bragging rights, The Glen gift cards and a coveted place in the National Finals at Canal Walk this September.

EAFC 25™ National Football Tournament

1st Place: Riaasat Ebrahim from Ormonde Joburg South (29) won R2 500 and a place in the grand finale at Canal Walk

2nd Place: Katlego Mpaka from Garankuwa, Pretoria (24) won R1 500

3rd Place: Phathutshexzo Maluadzi from Protea Glen, Soweto (21) won R1 000

Beat Saber

Jandré van Heerden took home R1 000 and a place in the Beat Saber final at Canal Walk

Schools Tournaments

EAFC 25™ – Mncedisi Khaya Ngobeza (15) from Abbots College won a R1000 The Glen Gift Card

Rocket League – Amaru Ebrahim (9) from Trinity House Glenvista won a R1000 The Glen Gift Card

Minecraft Group 1 – Hanyi Zhuang (13) from Curro Vanderbijlpark won a R500 The Glen Gift Card
